I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor/Clinical Supervisor and my practice is easily accessible located in the Dudley area DY1 1HA (Priory Street).
As a counsellor I offer a confidential, calm quiet space where you can talk about and explore the issues, dilemmas you are going through in your life. My role is to help you help yourself so you can continue your journey through life. I also offer integrative supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors, organisations, agencies and schools. My aim is to encourage a reflective, safe space enabling the supervisee to develop whilst exploring their own and client needs openly without fear of judgement and criticism. I am a registered supervisor at Key Counselling Training located in Birmingham which is an established counselling training provider where I supervise trainees.
Having gained my professional Counselling diploma at Key Counselling Training which specialised in Transactional analysis and Gestalt.
My approach is to work by using a range of therapeutic approaches such as Transactional Analysis, Person Centred, Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to try and maximise change by facilitating positive changes and promote emotional well being in my clients.
As a counsellor I will remain empathetic, understanding and non judgemental. I will also encourage you to take control while I assist you, helping you to be more aware of your own coping abilities which in time will give you the confidence to deal with both present and any future situations you come across. On occasion, I find it helps to set goals or homework for clients , this encourages the client to actively get involved in tackling whatever issues they have whilst being guided by myself as their counsellor.
Through my work in the private and volunteer sector I have experience of working with clients from diverse ethnicities and cultures enabling me to grow as both an individual and Counsellor. Having worked at counselling charities like The What Centre, Base25 and Believe to Achieve working with some amazing people from all walks of life.
